Jan. 3 Meeting- Topic: “Editing with Dennis O’Connor”

MAF meetings are the 1st Tuesday of each month at WNIT TV studios at 300 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601 at 7:00 pm.

Tonight’s presenter is Dennis O’Connor. Dennis started out as Commercial film editor in the 70′s in New York City after a brief career in stand-up comedy. He edited for major brands and ended his commercial career with Michael Jackson’s Pepsi spots in 84. Rock Videos with Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, James Taylor, Carly Simon and Ray Charles. Documentaries for National Endowment for the Arts including Mark Rothko at the Guggenheim.. He moved to LA to persue Feature Films including Weeds, Fire Birds, UHF, Prancer and The Looking Glass.

    MISSION STATEMENT
    To bring the art of film to “Mid America” (Indiana and bordering states) by expanding awareness of and interest in the social and cultural impact of independent filmmaking. This will be achieved by providing educational, creative and financial assistance (via grants) to residents of Mid America who recognize non-commercial film as an important art form through which ideas are expressed, and by awarding grants and providing fiscal sponsorship for film projects that would not otherwise be possible.
