    MISSION STATEMENT

    To bring the art of film to “Mid America” (Indiana and bordering states) by expanding awareness of and interest in the social and cultural impact of independent filmmaking.

    This will be achieved by providing educational, creative and financial assistance to residents of Mid America who recognize non-commercial film as an important art form through which ideas are expressed, and by awarding grants and providing fiscal sponsorship for film projects that would not otherwise be possible.

Screenwriters Group

On the second of Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Old National Band in Eddie Street Commons (by Notre Dame), a fun group of screenwriters meet and critique each others’ scripts. Each writer is allowed to bring a maximum of 10 pages for review.

They also do staged readings at the MAF Screenings where one script is chosen by the audience to be made into a short film for $100 and paid for by MAF. For more information and the current meeting location, contact Rose Waldschmidt, Chair, MAF Screenwriters Group at esor1@live.com.
