MAF is a 501C3 not for profit organization which provides education, casting calls, screenings of regionally made films, screenwriters group, fiscal sponsoship, and more. MAF meetings are the 1st Tuesday of each month at WNIT TV studios at 300 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601 at 7:00 pm.
MAF Mission Statement
Mid America Filmmakers brings the art of film to mid America (Indiana and bordering states) by expanding awareness of and interest in the social and cultural impact of independent filmmaking. This is achieved by providing educational, creative and financial assistance to residents of mid America who recognize noncommercial film as an important art form through which ideas are expressed, and by awarding grants and providing fiscal sponsorship for film projects that would not otherwise be possible.
MAF Salons/meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the WNIT studios in downtown South Bend at 300 W Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, Indiana 46601. A MAF Salon/Meeting evening starts with a quick and efficient meeting that lasts for around half an hour, followed by a one-hour “Making Movie Magic” filmmaking presentation with a different topic each month. Next, everyone breaks into a Salon and networks. It’s very informal group and there are conversations on film projects, acting, screenwriting, or even the latest favorite film release. If you come to a third Salon/Meeting, we graciously ask that you join MAF.
