    MISSION STATEMENT

    To bring the art of film to “Mid America” (Indiana and bordering states) by expanding awareness of and interest in the social and cultural impact of independent filmmaking.

    This will be achieved by providing educational, creative and financial assistance to residents of Mid America who recognize non-commercial film as an important art form through which ideas are expressed, and by awarding grants and providing fiscal sponsorship for film projects that would not otherwise be possible.

scouts9671MAF provides opportunities for aspiring young filmmakers to explore the art of filmmaking. The members present at schools and community groups, let truly interested individuals be a P.A. (Production Assistant) on a film set, and offer other related educational activities.  For more information contact us at midamericafilm@gmail.com.

“Making Movie Magic” Series

screentalkStarting in February 2010, a new filmmaking topic will be present at each MAF meeting. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month and “Making Movie Magic” presentations will follow at around 7:30 p.m.  We meet at the Cellar Door Restaurant, Ramana Inn (formerly Holiday Inn) Downtown at 213 W.
