MAF at Art Beat Sat., Aug. 21

We will have a booth as usual at Art Beat. We’ll be located in Scene D and we’ll be facing  west towards the Howard Park playground and ice rink. Info from Art Beat:
Downtown South Bend is excited for Art Beat to return as an in-person experience on August 21, 11 am to 7 pm. This year’s event will feature over 500 visual, performing, and culinary artists as well as interactive art opportunities. Admission is free!
We will be returning to a similar layout as 2019, with art booths, culinary vendors, and performing arts stages located on Jefferson and the East Bank area, extending into Howard Park for 2021!
COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR ART BEAT 2021:
DTSB has been working closely with the St. Joseph County Department of Health to determine the appropriate measures to make this event as safe as possible. St. Joseph County is currently experiencing substantial community-wide transmission of COVID-19 and therefore DTSB and local health officials are encouraging all Art Beat attendees to follow current CDC recommendations in regards to mask wearing and physical distancing in addition to hand hygiene.

Additionally we will be providing increased spacing between booths to allow for more physical distancing, complimentary masks at our info booths for those who would like one, and increased hand washing stations and hand sanitizing opportunities to improve hand hygiene.

    MISSION STATEMENT
    To bring the art of film to “Mid America” (Indiana and bordering states) by expanding awareness of and interest in the social and cultural impact of independent filmmaking. This will be achieved by providing educational, creative and financial assistance (via grants) to residents of Mid America who recognize non-commercial film as an important art form through which ideas are expressed, and by awarding grants and providing fiscal sponsorship for film projects that would not otherwise be possible.
